Opening Ceremony
The Mayor of Gwangju Metropolitan City, Mr. KANG Gi-jung, officially opened the 2025 WHRCF. Congratulatory remarks from the host and organizers of the Forum followed, while Woosuk University Professor SUH Sung delivered the keynote speech.
SUH Sung
"Our ideal of peace is an alliance of all nations based on national autonomy and independence, the ultimate realization of disarmament and nonviolence. The ultimate peace cannot be achieved through weapons. Thus, it is time to deeply engrave the saying 'Peace is trust' in our hearts."
Plenary Session
Plenary Session commenced with the keynote speech by Ewha Womans University Professor CHOE Jaechun. Moderated by Mr. SHIN Hyung-sik, the Director of the Institute for Popular Sovereignty, the session's main focus was practical discourse on the Forum’s overarching theme of Peace and Solidarity.

"Strengthening human rights is also the basis for effective policies and institutions addressing multifaceted crises. Efforts must be made to redefine the fundamental rights that citizens should possess in crisis situations, including during armed conflicts and disasters. We must seek a way to control war and militarism through human rights."
Farhana Binte Jigar Farina
"They should arrange meetings not just with the high officials of the country but rather with the protestors themselves. Gathering data regarding any issue should be done with a high level of anonymity. Programs should include more and more general people with an oppressed background. Local communities and student groups should be organized and working locally for the organizations."
