The 12th World Human Rights Forum was held at the Kimdaejung Convention Center for 4 days from 10th to 13th October 2022. During this year's forum, totally 38 programs were organized and 320 domestic and foreign speakers and around 1,800 participants gathered together. Under the theme of climate crisis and human rights, we concluded that it was important to recognize that climate crisis could impact on human rights not to just think the issue as the one that could impact on environment. Also, we came to understand that the first groups to be put into jeopardy were the vulnerable. Also, we took time to explore the ways to secure human rights of those in need. Also, we had in-depth discussions on the importance and role of local governments that were able to take prompt and direct responses to human rights issues in this global emergency.
This year's forum attended by officials and relevant of international organizations and local governments home and abroad dealt with globally discussed agenda and shared best practices. The forum invited the young activists and provided attendees with an opportunity to listen to their voices and to understand their views as well. |

In particular, the forum held in-person this year was able to provide a very active atmosphere that we have not seen over the past two years. At every corner of the venue, we could see that domestic and international participants freely share their opinions and thoughts with one another. Tour programs(5 programs including Human Rights Tour, Human Rights Policy Tour, and Cultural and Art Tour) and other side events provided participants with diverse experiences and a fun time.
The secretariat of the WHRCF has asked officials and speakers from domestic and international organizations to send their reviews in order to report on the very vivid atmosphere of the forum. Based on their reviews, the secretariat has prepared a follow-up report on 'the 12th World Human Rights Cities Forum in the view of participants.' The following comments are from the officials of organizers and speakers who were part of the forum especially based on what they saw and felt. |
